Plot Diagram Lesson Plan Creation Work
Plot Diagram Lesson Plans Creation Points
In order to develop students' ability to think, make decisions, and express themselves through lessons, it is necessary to have situations in which students think and generate output.
Thinking Tools are also very useful for students to think and generate outputs.
Key Points of Thinking Tool Utilization
The following is a summary of key points for using the Thinking Tools in lesson plan creation.
Work to Create A Peak of Plot Diagram Lesson Plan
In order to design a lesson that develops students' ability to think, make decisions, and express themselves, there must be situations in which students think and generate output.
In the Plot Diagram Lesson Plan, the activities in which students think are placed at the peaks of the plot diagram.
Here is some work to create thinking activities (the peaks of the plot diagram) for students in the class.
Download Worksheet
You can download the worksheet used in the following work here. Note:
Please import the data into your school ID for your own use.
We recommend that you use a PC for downloading and importing.
STEP1 List items to be covered in class or unit
Select the unit for which you want to create a lesson or unit design.
You will then create a list of items that you would like to cover in the unit and in the class.

STEP2Rank "items you want students to actively think about" and "items that require only acquisition of knowledge and skills.
Use the Diamond Ranking to rank the items that you want students to actively think about versus the items that you want them to just acquire knowledge and skills on.

STEP3 Create ideas by combining "methods for students to think independently" with "items you want them to actively think about."
1. Take out the Candy Chart.
2. In the leftmost column of the candy chart, place the top items that you want the students to actively think about, which you created in STEP 2.
Please refer to the following links for more information on the "methods for encouraging students to think independently" listed on the Cards, as well as ideas for creating lesson plans for each subject area.。

3. Place the Cards for methods for students to think independently on the middle column of the Candy Chart.
4. In the right column of the chart, put "concrete ideas" that are a combination of the "items you want students to actively think about" in the left column and the "methods to encourage students to think independently" in the middle column.

STEP4 Use the Analysis Chart to think about lesson planning
Using the Analysis Chart, think about class planning based on the specific ideas considered in STEP 3.

Move each of the "concrete ideas" you considered in STEP 3 that you feel most "would like to try" to the Analysis Chart.

In the bottom column of the Analysis Chart, consider the specific "class activities to implement the idea".

STEP5 Bring class ideas to the top of the Plot Diagram
Bring the "class activities to implement the idea" considered in STEP 4 to the peak of the Plot Diagram.
Place the lesson plans you developed in STEP 4 at the peak of the downloaded plot diagram.

STEP6 Prepare materials and slides for class
Based on the lesson development created in STEP 4, create the necessary materials and slides for the class.
